Where are the Ph.D. students?
What are your universities?
How long time will you spend abroad?
Carlos Mello
I'm second-year Ph.D. student at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro and now first-year at Ecole Centrale Paris. I'm doing that in a double-diploma modality. I'll spend 12 months here (Paris) and after that I'll intend to come back on 2011 again for one more year. Btw, my research field is Computer Science, more specifically Data Mining.

C. U. folks!

Hi everybody,

Moni, if you are a bit late...I am REALLY REALLY late !! blink.gif

I have posted a message on "Presentations" topic and, as I told, I´m a doctoral student in UFRJ (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro) and I will be researching at TUM (Munich) from September/2009 to February/2010. I will travel with my husband and my little daughter (2 years old).

Although my graduation and MSc. was in engineering (electronics and telecommunications), now in PhD my research area is in Intellectual Property, patents more specifically (in UFRJ it is in the Economics Institute). This is because since 2004 I became a patent examiner in Brazil (electronics area) and I got really interested in patent related issues.

Hi Carlos, I have a job mate that studies Data Mining either, but she is a doctoral student in PUC/RJ. It seems to be a very interesting issue with great applications on searching (and classification) patents.

Kind regards rolleyes.gif
